So you got into a car accident, and it was bad enough that your car isn't driveable. You have to get it towed away from the scene of said car accident... but how do you go about doing that? Five steps to take when your car gets towed
Step #1: Determine who's going to tow it. Who's going to tow your car to the nearest mechanic or salvage yard? More often than not, your car insurance policy - the collision part of it - will cover towing for your Clermont Toyota. Most car insurance providers have a preferred towing service and it's best to use them; however, you can usually use who you'd like and who you trust to get your car to its destination.
Step #2: Decide where it's going to be towed. Speaking of destinations... where are you going to have your car towed? Is it going to a mechanic or repair shop like Toyota of Clermont? Or is it a total loss and needs to be dropped at a salvage yard so it can be scrapped for parts? Figure this aspect of having your car towed out before the driver arrives so you can give them clear instructions.
Step #3: Clean out your belongings. You may not have access to your car for a few days after it's been towed, so make sure you get your belongings out, as well as anything else valuable or important that you keep in the car. Step #5: Decide what you're going to do with the car once it's been dropped off. Finally, decide what you're going to do with your car. Is it going to be fixed or scrapped? Whose insurance is going to cover it? Make a plan of action - with the help of your car insurance company - so you can get back on the road as quickly as possible.
